Add your cafe to shofa.social
Owners sign up in the shofa.social app with the same phone number and texted code that members use. It takes a few minutes. The app reads most of your details from your Google listing.
How sign-up works
- Open Add my cafe at app.shofa.social/cafes and sign in with your phone number and the code we text you. A member account and a cafe account can share one number and are kept separate.
- Paste your Google Maps link. shofa.social will read your cafe's name, address, opening hours and photos from the listing. Check them and fix anything that's wrong. If your cafe isn't on Google, you can type them in.
- Photograph your shopfront in daylight from across the road, or pick a photo from your listing. shofa.social will redraw it in pencil, in the style of the drawings on this site. If you don't like it, try another photo.
- Choose your photo spot and your shofa table. Members are photographed in the same spot and light every time. Meetings happen at your shofa table, in public.
- Start photoshoots on your phone or on a tablet you pair to your cafe. Either one can show the check-in code on the counter. You can invite staff by phone number to run shoots too.
What it costs
Being on shofa.social costs £10 a month per branch (each location is its own partner cafe), plus £2.50 for each photoshoot, billed monthly. If you prepay for 10 shoots a month (£20 upfront), each shoot costs £2 and any extra shoots are £2.50. You set the customer's price at your own till. We suggest charging customers £5. Read the details for cafes.
Rules for partner cafes
- Take photos only in the cafe, using live capture.
- Check age at every shoot.
- Don't share anyone's details outside the app.
- Ban fairly and log a reason.
